Thud

Thud

Is how a life ends

With a screech of brakes

Just outside of Bristol

Lies are whipped up

For the little girls

Fresh with teen pop concert glow

Who know no better

And I am not sure I understand

That when I left the toilet

Ten minutes ago

You were standing on that bridge

Too far away

By then, to be seen

By anyone

How lonely you must have been

I thought that when a life begins

Its ending

We would all feel the loss

But I did not

Heartbreaking to think

We will all be forgotten

In the end

A delayed train, a blip in history
